The Point Chevalier Bowling Club, aka the Point Chevalier Pirates, is located in the chic central Auckland suburb affectionately known for its abundance of cafes and popular beach. Part of the history of Point Chevalier involved the sale of the Dignan land to a philanthropist Hallyburton Johnstone, who in turn created the Trust which is now home to the Bowls, Tennis and Croquet clubs on Dignan Street. The Bowls club has made their mark on this street and the bowling community with their pirate flag and rowdy support team.
